This report is the result of a collaboration between the Forum of Federations and the Attorney-General’s Department of the Commonwealth Government of Australia. The report covers the findings of a two-day Workshop on ‘Emergency Management in Federal Countries’. The workshop was held on the facilities of the Australian Emergency Management Institute, 20-21 February 2014
The report illustrates the structures, policies,
key themes, challenges, opportunities and emerging issues in emergency
management in federal states presented by official representatives on emergency
management from Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan and United States of
America.
The report also contains, in its Annex, a report from German officials who were
not able to attend.
